|
|
it is posstible byrapid and constant clicking by several players on thier dsp's to cause fleet freezes and such...perhaps unintentionally, but it has to be fixed somehow
1.
one solution would be, that the timer between probes-clicks are set up more secands than already (10 s at the moment)
2.
the other solution would be, that just the dsp-scan on the probes screen would refresh only every 30 s.
anyway:
if anyone uses this glinch to freeze fleets, it is treated as CHEATING!
so please don?t use this bug until we program a solution.
the first solution could be done very easy, but i think it is annoying to have access to the probes screen only every 30 s. ??? |

both options are bad. a lot can happen in 30 seconds. it doesn't matter much when your enemy is offline, but online battles will change into guessing games with 30 seconds old dsp data.
wouldn't a 3rd option be possible? - to change the way fleets move so that when a fleet is near to the target it moves with smaller jumps so that refreshing your dsp wont cause them to lock back. |

the 30 seconds way would be bad like senor said, also you couldn't pick ships anymore via overfly without stopping at 1 coord. my computer is to slow for this, but i know some players like to do this. |

I believe not only clicking on the probes menue but also clicking on the fleets menue can freeze a fleet. Not only for someone taking advantage, but also if somone himself is eta'ing on a target you can't have a look at your probe or fleets menue cause you will freeze your own fleets... _________________

4.
the last_updatetime of a fleet is only re-written, if the coords change at least a 100th of a sector in one direction.
if the time was too short, then the fleet is claimed as Not-updated.
this would keep the last refresh time actual until the movement is big enough... i will check in the code, if this is possible |

Well one time i tried to attack this guy and when my fleet reached his planet, it started the time over again by thirty seconds, and it did this for twenty minutes, does this issue cover this? _________________ 11/11/11 |

i think i understand what u mean by this, but i'm not sure. basically if u refresh your dsp then only the fleets that have moved a bit are actually refreshed? it seems like the best of 3 possible solutions. it takes 18 seconds to move one click(100th of sector) so its better than 30 seconds wait time. i think i can adjust to that.
i hope you can do it admin ; ) |

I don't know what changes were brought on by the recent accusations of the CGC cheating by pressing their probes... during the recent battle at our FC... I'm sure we weren't the only ones watching our DSPs as there was 18 fleets involved... but whatever the new changes has given ST a great lag between all the page loading requests...
The CGC did not intentionally cheat... and I'm sorry if it seemed to be that but remember this just wasn't a 1 on 1 battle... there was many fleets, players and DSPs involved... not your typical battle to judge something upon... all players actions combined could've easily delayed the fleets from updating...
Admin please take off the updates you made... the new lag for ALL pages is ANNOYING |

it had nothing to do with the recent FC changes
but this bug here should be fixed
i used version 4.
so only if a fleet coordinate has changed, then the updatetime is set to the time of the reload of the probes screen and the fleets screen
please report any problems you encounter |
