we want to jazz up the ground battles a bit without making making it more complicated.
there would be a 2D grid (basicly a chessboard) where the ground troops are deployed (at random or by the player)
the battle would unfold automatically like little robots that fight each other.
it will be graphical (you can watch the current battle order on the 2D map)
a ground battle would then last some hours (maybe and each side can bring reinforcements until the battle is over. _________________

the basic framework can be taken from the biosphere-engine, but it is still some effort - but it could be a nice extra polish and fun for colony players and would also add some strategic/logistic depth to the game. _________________

this will also be implemented... in a slightly more simplified way, more like a card game.
but with some depth to it and some random event to change the tide of the battle (weather etc.) _________________
