vessel scan

this is a stationary version of the deep scan probe without warp to scan the area around your planet for fleet signatures

scanradius: 3

speed: warp 0

researchtime: 10 minutes
buildingtime: 2 h

Why does the vessel scan only scan for 3 ? ?

coz' sending a deep scan probe to 1 sector allow U to see fleets 1 sector more from Ur base and 3 sector from the other side :

Vessel scan :

3 - 2 - 1 - planet - 1 - 2 - 3

Deep scan :
6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 - planet - 1 - 2 -3 -4

the vessel scan is just a stationary emergency scan.

if you are under attack you usually don`t have enough time left to build a DSP and send it out one sector.

so perhaps you should make it take less time, say 1 hour. that way we can say it is an emergency prob!!

I don't researched the DSP but i use the Vessel Scan...
Not help too much, but can tell you the fleet configuration...
The Eagle fleet is easy to identify.
One example: 1/300/1/1 (This configuration maybe is impossible to have one like that but it is a example)
Or the Doomstar: 0/0/0/2 or 1/1/1/2

we changed the researchtime to 10 minutes.
this should help new players to find out how the research system works

a suggestion. a DSP + improved field theories is 2h 20 min time enough to send investigation probes

As the vessel scan is not really usefull neither used(see ship statistics) i propose a change on the game
Put the vessel scan as a research made, and maybe as an already probe existing.
So the first time you join the account you have the seti scan, the investigation probe to send and a vessel scan(made or in progress at production;) )

Of course the decision rests with admin, I like the idea. The benefets to new players would be really wonderful. The realization of the importance of DSP's is something that eludes new players. This will show them what other fleets are in their area , if any and what a DSP screen looks like.

Just as long as i can still build one in a couple of hours when I detect incommings and all my DSP's are deployed
