transwarp-network
this is the accessgate to the transwarp-network between the planets of your alliance. within the transwarptunnels you can travel at high speed.
once you leave a tunnel the fleet continues with normal warp-speed.
transwarp can only be used between alliance members which both have a transwarp-gate built
the mobile transwarp-gate is connected to the transwarp net of the alliance. only the leader can use it. you pay 1500 points when you build it, but you also win 1500 points if you shoot one the twg is designed to etablish a beachhead in a distant area. all fleets of all members of your alliance that are flying from one transwarp gate to another ( for example the mobile one) move
faster
it is commanded like a regular fleet, send it to any coords you wish, once it will reach its destination it is fully
operational for your alliance members.
but you can send it at any time to any location.
the mobile TWG is too large to send it
through your own transwarp network. it always travels on warp 4
attack/life: 0/0
manpower: 0 for it comes from pionts not mp's
researchtime: 2 d
buildingtime: 2 d
hope this helped a little .

The other question I have is whether it can be defended.
It seems to think it is fleet one, I get messages saying fleet one is getting defense from fleet one in 4 hours etc.
But when you fleets are at the gate, do they fight first like in a normal battle, or is the mobile transwarp a separate fleet entirely? |

you cannot really defend the mobile TWG, but if it gets attacked, just move it aside and its safe |

Yes but I neither looked at the alliance incomings nor at the MTWG menu...
But I actually wanted to ask:
How do you recycle the Mobile Transwarpgate?
Do you have to fight it? |

yes, you cannot recycle it. the fairest thing, to get the points back is if the leader (or the one who built it) destroys it, it only has 100 MP, then you get the points for it |

I thought only the alliance leader can build it? Or the manual says only the leader can use it? I think that would be no great advantage... |

sure, only the leader can build it, but later, there could be voted a new leader.
and certainly every member of the alliance can use it. |

So does it travel to a destination at normal ship speed of warp 5, or probe speed Warp 10, and can you send it through your own transwarp network to an allies destination at warp 15?

it is good if u guys read the manual first and than ask questions
the speed is warp 4
it is commanded like a regular fleet, send it to any coords you wish, once it will reach its destination it is fully
operational for your alliance members.
